On top of my flat files I have a long line of sketchbooks. I carry a sketchbook with me everywhere I go. They tend to be observational in nature, rather than a place where I go to work things out, though I do sometimes do that. They are also journalistic in the sense that I do quite a bit of writing in them, here and there. What they are not are mini galleries wherein I try to impress people with techniques, etc. Some pages do get more finished works due only to getting lost in the fun of it all.

I try to change the drawing utensil fairly often so that I don't go on autopilot. I have a plethora of drawing materials in my shoulder bag. If I feel like I am going on autopilot, I switch and immediately have to really "look" again, and try to get the new implement to carry the load.

I'll try and rotate the pages somewhat frequently and mix up the subject matter. I hope you enjoy them.
