The Corua Comic Festival in Spain is an incredible affair. I was invited there by Miguelanxo Prado and had a show of my work there. The Guest of Honor that year then gets to do the cover to the Festival book the next year. The only stricture is to have the Tower of Hercules in the piece. The Tower of Hercules is a lighthouse that is over a thousand? years old, and where it is believed that the head of the giant is buried beneath it.

For my first shot at this I decided it would be fun to do TinTin, which is an icon for European comics, and use the tower as his tuft of hair.

I had a lot of fun doing this piece. Unfortunately they said that they couldn't use it because of legal complications with Hergé's widow. So I had to do something else. I ended up doing a shot of the Tower of Hercules with the head of the giant buried beneath it. Still fun! I'll try and include the final cover here as well.
