A transfer Monotype —  an etching plate or piece of plexiglas is inked up with etching ink then a piece of paper is placed over the ink. Using a pencil the artist draws and rubs on the sheet to transfer the ink to the paper. Each piece actually has two pieces, the inked/printed side and the original pencil drawing on the reverse.
