Drawing after Rodin

250.00

Pen, Brush and Sumi Ink on buff colored paper

12.5 x 16.25

This piece was done as a panel for a sequential story I did about my father when he was dying from a brain tumor. When I was feeling really down I'd visit the Brooklyn Museum and haunt the floor of Rodin sculptures. The guards never let you get very close to the sculptures. One day when I was especially down over news of my father, I found myself there again. Oddly, though, the minute I stepped into the room all the guards and museum goers left the room.

I walked up to the Helmet Maker's Wife and embraced that statue and held on for dear life.
